Im rather new to the whole ROM swapping at the swap of a hat thing, im used to going through the Ape$#it windows gives me whenever I play with my BIOS. How would you go about doing this? is it just a matter of copying and pasting? It just seems odd to me that this would work with certain macs, i would have thought that too many items would clash with one another. What steps would one take to do this? Rest assured, im not planning on trying this, hell would have frozen over a few different times before i even had access to the rom itself, im just curious
Thanks

Tony,

We do not have the option to copy the rom. It is in firmware. With PCs, you have the option of backing it up in the event the battery dies and the machine is without a power source. Once the rom is saved in firmware, it is there forever.

I hope that answers your question because there is a rom file in the system folder. Two different animals.

Thanks, but now im totaly lost. i thought the Mac ROM in the system folder was directly related to the macs firmware. What is the story behind this? http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/feedback/MacOS_ROM_Performance.html#storytop
Just curious about how it works
Thanks

that is the rom file in the System folder. Becareful. If you erase the file, the machine will not boot. You will have to restore the system software from the cd.

make sure you understand how to fix it before proceeding.
