... and where do I get one from? Apparently some beta software only works fine with a debugger installed or so. I don't really understand it. Also Error -12 (I think it was) has got something to do with a debugger?!?!?!?!
Any wise people out there?
Thanks...:-)

I'm not sure what you are up to but go here http://developer.apple.com/tools/ . Down towards the bottom of the page is MacsBug and ResEdit. You may see some other useful stuff there too.

Thanks Louie, I'm not sure what I'm up to either :-) but this is a nice link. I'll have a read, and I think it will answer some questions.
Cheers,

Well, no software changes the way it works depending on whether you have a debugger installed; it's just that beta software tends to crash a lot, and sometimes if you DO have a debugger (MacsBug is the only one anyone uses) installed, you can avoid a hard restart and recover from the crash by using the debugger to forcefully exit the application.

That's why you use a debugger. (Programmers use it while writing software so that when they crash it, they can examine data values in RAM, lookup tables, etc.)

There is another thread on here, I think in System Software Tips or Repair/Troubleshooting, that covers MacsBug usage. Also search those forums' archives if you can't find it in the last 90 days' threads.

we've got some MacsBug documentation, manuals, etc., on our FTP site.

look under macsbug_references.
