I'm going to be upgrading my studio to a new G4, but with the new macs only one of them has the dual chips. I don't want to go through the Apple store because they don't offer everything I need.

Can anyone give me some advice on wether the older dual G4's would be better with Logic Audio or does it not matter with a newer single processor?

Thanks!!!

any musicians or audio engineers want to step up and handle this one?

I'm not audio expert, but the new G4/7450 has at least double the Alti-Vec units the old G4/7400 did, so the new top end G4's - 667 & 733 would probably be the best, assuming the audio apps are coded to take advantage of the Velocity. I think the 533 and slower Macs are the standard 7400 G4.

I could be wrong.

Just about everything else is faster on the new systems: PCI, AGP & mainbus.
