Hi,
I just picked up the VOODOO 3 PCI 12MG card on eBay for under $20. So I figured it was probably time to upgrade. I have read that this card will go either way, PC or Mac Rom, depending on how it is flashed. Most if not all of this model card were sold as PC only.

I have been looking through several sights for tips, instructions and necessary drivers, testing software, etc. So far I am still a little unclear about this card, as to which flashing scenarios apply to this card, and which apply to subsequent versions of it. There seems to be a Voodoo 200 and a 3000 and one of them is 16 megs while mine is 12 megs.

Could anyone suggest a web link where I can do more reading up about my card in particular? And, Can someone also suggest a clear instruction guide for the actual flashing?

I already downloaded a bunch of drivers that I think will be all that I need. Although I have also read that not doing correctly can leave the card useless. But at $20, I feel pretty fearless.

Here are some drivers that I downloaded: http://www.clanmacgaming.com/files.php

And it is fair to say, that I am a complete flashing virgin. Maybe I should reword that... Anyway,
Thanks for the help.

Hi lb

That should be 16 megs. There was a 3/2000and a 3/3000 but they were very simalar and sure they both had 16 megs memory. Anyway read this hass most all info... http://www.macgurus.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000236.html

Or search "rwm" in the Video upgrades - there are only about 10 or so and but some of the others have good instructrion too..

You need to flash it with some software the GURU's ftp site has.. ftp://ftp.macgurus.com/%2Fftp/

My VooDoo 3/3000 really made a nice difference vs. stock video.
Good Luck, Randy
