Can anyone help ?

I have been given this old video card to help speed up my old 8500.

All I know is it has "Radius" etched on the board, the board contains a Weitek Power 9100 chip and "blue" IBM chip.

I have no idea what name/model this board was sold under and have spent all day trawling the Net. Unfortunately both the Weitek and Radius sites no longer exist. There appears to be quite a few sites dedicated to Win95/98 for Weitek but nothing for Mac.

Can anyone help me find a suitable site or have the drivers themselves.

PS... the board also has the year 1995 etched on it... so it's old.

The only reason I want to use it is to free up the main board a little to squeeze a bit more for my Audio application.

Regards

Pip

Does Apple System Profiler identify anything about the card such as a model number? k

I think Radius only made two PCI video cards before they mutated into Orion Digital Video or whatever they're called now. Both of them had compatibility problems with OS 8 or maybe systems later than 8.1 IIRC. My memory is vague on this point, but I'm pretty sure they just didn't work with later OSs.

Oh Poop!!!

I am using OS 9.1 (or is it 9.01 ?? )

Anyway... my 8500 won't even boot up properly when the board is installed therefore I can't check System Profiler !!!

Oh well... it was worth a shot...

Back to hunting eBay for a sub $30 board !

Thanks for the info guys !
