I'm in process of repairing a Beige G3 MT as my first Apple (Finally!), and I noticed it has some open PCI slots. Anywho, I've got an older Creative Labs Voodoo2 12MB PCI 3D Accelerator, and I haven't been able to get a definitive answer...is it possible to run this on the G3 MT? I'm heavily PC based, so bare with me, but is it compatible as is? Or am I going to have to flash it or whatever I keep hearing about...thanx in advance!!!

I think it should work with the b5 drivers. I do not think it needs any flashing.

You could probably get a V3 for $25 http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That card works well in a Mac, but you must flash the ROM over to Mac firmware and use Mac drivers.

Voodoo2 cards do not need any ROM flashed for use in a Mac, as they carry no ROM on the card. All you need is the reference drivers. On the other hand, a Voodoo3 card has to have the ROM flashed for use in a Mac.
