Comp USA is blowing out thier Voodoo3 3000 PCI video cards for $80. Get em while you can. I just got one. A smooth as installation as my Voodoo3 2000 PCI.

Be sure to get the Mac flasher and the latest beta drivers before 3dfx disappears.

I think the drivers are available from a number of sites, including xlr8yourmac.com.

One note; I dont think the latest 3DFX drivers, 1.1.3b are intended for use with Voodoo3 cards, only V4 and V5. I think the latest V3 drivers are 1.1.2.

While not intended for use on the V3, the new drivers sure do work. I just downloaded them the other day and they work without a hitch. The last revision seemed to slow down scrolling just a bit. But this latest version makes a noticable improvement. RAVE also seems to have improved a bit. Of course, mileage WILL vary. The last official version designed for the V3 boards was version 1.0b12 (still a Beta) I think. 80 Bucks? Damn.

If I were to buy a Voodoo4 4500 PC card, could I use it in my Mac? I see the Voodoo3's were interchangeable platform-wise.

nope, cannot use PC V4 or V5 in a mac. when their sites were fully online this was alluded to in the FAQs. it's more than firmware, but that's all I am qualified to report...
