  Lycom’s Port Multiplier capable Express34 host card is the basis to the perfect MacBookPro or Laptop's storage system. This card mounts up to 10 drives when attached to enclosures with Port Multipliers like the Burly Port Multiplier Enclosures available here in 4, 5 and 8 Bay versions. Or it can attach one or two drives directly. The Lycom Express34 card fully supports software RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD and works with any SATA hard drive. Can be connected to any portable computer that has an available Express34 slot.

   Performance is the best we have ever seen on a portable computer. Drives mounted individually, not in RAID, perform as fast as they are mechanically capable of. We are seeing great 60 to high 70 MB/sec transfer rates on a MacBookPro using currently available SATAII Hitachi and Seagate 3.5 inch drives. Building striped RAIDs can give in excess of 160 MB/sec.
