We appreciate your technical corrections and comments !

The PowerBook Duo 2300c-series has a single motherboard memory expansion slot addressed along a 32-bit memory bus. These computers require unique 70ns Duo Memory Expansion Cards in either 4MB, 8MB, 12MB, 20MB, 36MB, or 48MB capacities.

The Duo 2300c shipped with 8MB RAM soldered to the logic board. Although Duo 2300-series PowerBooks accept the same RAM as the PowerBook Duo 200-series, MacGurus quality assurance testing will be enhanced if you note which PowerBook you are ordering for in the Comments field of the order form when purchasing upgrade modules.

It should be noted that memory speed and module quality can be significant in the case of third-party RAM modules migrating from Duo 200-series computers to the Duo 2300. Incorporating quality chipsets and appropriate component controls in manufacturing ensures compatibility of Duo memory from model to model. All MacGurus Duo expansion modules are certified to function error-free in all Duo models; your mileage may vary with modules from other manufacturers, particularly modules fabricated prior to the release of the Duo 2300.

Including soldered main motherboard RAM, the addition of a single 4MB, 8MB, 12MB, 20MB or 36MB expansion module yields memory configurations of 12MB, 16MB, 20MB, 28MB and 44MB. The maximum amount of RAM the Duo 2300c can address is 56MB, through the installation of third-party 48MB expansion modules. Please note that MacGurus does not stock 48MB expansion modules, but can acommodate special orders for these pieces on an individual basis.

Alone among the Duo subnotebooks, the Duo 2300c shipped with a Motorola 603e microprocessor clocked at 100MHz. Despite the fact that the Duo 2300c was the first PowerPC subnotebook ever manufactured, its video and disk I/O was sluggish, and the lack of an L2 cache hobbled its overall performance.

The Duo-series in entirety supports SCSI Disk Mode.
