We appreciate your technical corrections and comments !

The PowerBook 500-series has a single motherboard memory expansion slot addressed along a 32-bit memory bus. These computers require unique 70ns PB500 PSRAM Cards in either 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, or 32MB capacities.

All PB500-series shipped with 4MB RAM soldered to the logic board, and all 500-series motherboard revisions accept the same RAM. Nonetheless, please note which PowerBook you are ordering for in the Comments field of the ordering form when ordering upgrade modules.

In combination with main logic board RAM, a single 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, or 32MB expansion module yields memory configurations of 8MB, 12MB, 20MB, or 36MB. Apple specifications state that 36MB is the maximum amount of RAM the 500-series can address.

The PB500-series shares a common main logic board design, shipping with Motorola 68LC040 microprocessors running at either 25MHz or 33MHz.

All PB500-series computers support SCSI Disk Mode.

The PowerBook 500-series includes 512k static video display memory soldered to the main logic board, and is capable of driving external video displays at 8-bit resolutions. The PowerBook 500-series cannot drive external monitors while running on battery power.

The PowerBook Video Adapter Cable (M3927LL/A), which is also compatible with the PowerBook 5000-series, ships with the PowerBook. The Micro DV-14 (or VID-14) video-out port on the external video card yields 8-bit color output in 256 colors, supporting most Macintosh monitors, VGA monitors, and SVGA monitors.
